Mariah Carey Goes Platinum With Christmas Classic 19 Years After Release

Mariah Carey has officially sold a million copies of her hit holiday tune All I Want For Christmas Is You, 19 years after it was first released in the U.K.
The Grammy-winning singer is celebrating yet another milestone - her track from the 1994 Merry Christmas album has sold 68,000 copies in 2013, finally pushing the total of one million copies in Britain.
The song returned to the Official Singles Chart in 2007, and has re-appeared in the top 40 every December since then.
Carey gave praise to her fans for the achievement, telling OfficialCharts.com, "I just landed back in the U.S. after performing a charity show in Africa for the Red Cross. I'm driving home looking at the snow in my hometown of Nyc, celebrating selling one million copies of All I Want For Christmas Is You in the U.K. Thank you, thank you to all of my British fans! Love, Mariah."
